Jakarta: World Indonesia Scholarship (WISH) 2019 Festival is present in 21 cities in Indonesia. This scholarship exhibition is intended to increase literacy and access to higher education for the people of Indonesia.
WISH 2019 is a form of collaboration and initiative from various communities, including the Indonesian Scholarship Network (ISN), Mata Garuda, Educational Fund Management Institutions (LPDP), Sahabat Beasiswa (Scholarship Friends), and other institutions engaged in education.
It is expected to gather scholarship seekers, scholarship recipients, alumni’s, scholarship provider institutions, educational institutions at home and abroad, foreign embassies, the government, and various other institutions from Indonesia.
Chair of the 2019 WISH Festival, Akbar Nikmatullah Dachlan believes, every child in Indonesia has the right to have the same opportunity to get a quality education.
"This is why the presence of the 2019 WISH Festival with LOKALATE is a step to realize our big dream for Indonesia. So that young people from Aceh to Papua have access to information on scholarships at home and abroad," Akbar said at the 2019 WISH Festival Press Conference, South Jakarta on Friday, November 8, 2019.
According to him, based on data from the World Economic Forum in 2019, the level of Indonesia's Global Competitive Index continued to decline from year to year.
"I hope the WISH Festival will continue in the coming years so that more and more young Indonesians can gain access to scholarships for a better future. For the sake of Indonesia's golden generation in 2045," he said.
