Minister Says Indonesia May Launch Covid-19 Vaccination Program Next Week

Jakarta: Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto is optimistic that the government can launch the covid-19 vaccination program next week.
The coordinating minister explained that the government is currently still waiting for an emergency use authoriziation (eua) from the Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM) and halal certificate from the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI).
"The vaccination program is expected to begin in mid-January or next week," said the Functional Groups (Golkar) Party chairman here on Monday.

The first group to be vaccinated is medical staff in the upcoming one to three months. 
There are 1.3 millions of medical staff in 34 provinces who serve as the frontier in fighting against covid-19 pandemic.
On the next phase, the Government will vaccinate 17.4 million public officers and 21.5 million of senior citizens aged 60 years and above.
The last group to be vaccinated is the general public.
