Bandung: West Java Governor Ridwan "Emil" Kamil is not interested in joining the upcoming cabinet which is currently being formed by President-elect Joko "Jokowi" Widodo and his Vice President-elect Ma’ruf Amin. The media-savvy politician wants to focus on leading West Java province.
Emil said that he wants to show his capabilities to West Java residents. The former Bandung mayor added that he is now trying to realize his campaign promises and proposed programs.
“I’m not interested. I want to show my leadership in West Java. It is my first year as West Java governor. I am really motivated to govern West Java. So I want to focus on leading the province," Emil said here on Wednesday.

Emil is one of the potential minister candidates for the upcoming cabinet. Jokowi wants to work young ministers on his second term as the President of the country.
Emil supports Jokowi’s decision to prioritize young minister cabdidates. He believes young ministers can also help build the country.
“If the President picks young ministers due to their agility, I agree with that and I support that notion," he said.
He cite as a paradigm the presence of the young Ministery in charge of youth and sports from
Malaysia, whose name is Syed Saddiq and he is just only 26 years-old.
“I pray that whoever is elected as a minister can represent the majority of Indonesian
population which will be dominated by younger generation in 60 or 70 years,” said Emil. (Muhammad Gestinev)
