Jakarta: Several newly inaugurated governors and deputy governors held a meeting the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) headquarters in South Jakarta on Wednesday, June 12, 2019.
The meeting was attended by Lampung Governor Arinal Djunaidi, Lampung Deputy Governor Chusnunia Chalim, Maluku Governor Murad Islamil, Maluku Deputy Governor Barnabas Orno, North Maluku Abdul Ghani Kasuba and North Maluku Govenor Al Yasin Ali. The regional leaders were accompanied by Home Affairs Minister Tjahjo Kumolo.
"I always bring newly-inaugurated regional leaders to the KPK headquarters. They can discuss about anti-corruption and good governance there," the minister told the press after the meeting.
"KPK officials provided a number of inputs. We synergized our visions," the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) politician noted.
Arinal was inaugurated at the Presidential Palace Complex in Central Jakarta earlier today. He was named as the winner of the 2018 Lampung gubernatorial race in August.
His inauguration ceremony was led by President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo. It was also attended by Vice President Jusuf Kalla, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Wiranto, Industry Minister Airlangga Hartarto, Home Affairs Minister Tjahjo Kumolo, Youth and Sports Minister Imam Nahrawi, Manpower Minister Hanif Dhakiri, Land and Spatial Planning Minister Sofyan Djalil, Villages, Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration Minister Eko Putro Sandjojo and Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung.
