Jakarta: Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati stated that the heads of Indonesian representative abroad must carry out strategic economic diplomacy to support Indonesian exports while building a healthy investment climate in Indonesia.
This was conveyed by the Minister of Finance in the Work Meeting of the Indonesian Chief Representative with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemenlu) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Office, Jakarta on Thursday, January 9, 2020.
Attended by 132 Indonesian Representative Heads, Sri Mulyani emphasized that each Representative Head must be able to explain how the Indonesian economy is going, so that Indonesia has a prosperous prospects for overseas investors.
"I want to give a 2019 kaleidoscope to illustrate what dynamics are and how they affect our economy so that you can explain the Indonesian economy. We are very confident that the Indonesian economy is good enough and that it is one of the basic capitals for us to have a standing (strategic position in) internationally," she was quoted in a press release issued on Monday, January 13, 2020.
Then, the Minister stressed that the Republic Indonesia Representative Heads can offer incentives for Tax Holiday and Tax Allowance to prospective investors which processes are now simpler and faster.
"Companies and investors need investment. For those who want to invest, we can provide incentives in the form of Tax Holiday and it is quite significant, so companies want to take risks. For this tax holiday, ladies and gentlemen, can explain to potential investors (Tax Holiday), the process is simple and fast whether you want to invest in a region or area that is become the priority to be developed by the government," she was quoted as saying.
