Jakarta: President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo has announced that the government will allocate Rp405.1 trillion to support the handling of covid-19 outbreak in Indonesia.
According to the former Jakarta governor, Rp75 trillion will be allocated to support the country's healthcare system and purchase medical equipment.
"As well as upgrading our referral hospitals," President Jokowi said at the State Palace in Central Jakarta on Tuesday, March 31, 2020.
Meanwhile, Rp110 trillion will be allocated to bolster social safety net programs, including the Pre-Work Card program and the Affordable Food Card program.
"Rp70.1 trillion will be allocated for tax incentives and small medium enterprises (SMEs). Rp150 trillion will be allocated to finance economic recovery programs," President Jokowi explained.
As of Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at 12.00 Western Indonesia Time (WIB), the government has recorded 1,528 confirmed covid-19 cases, 81 recoveries and 136 deaths.
