Indonesia's Imports Down by 16.39% in October 2019

Jakarta: Indonesia's imports stood at USD14.77 billion in October 2019, declining by 16.39 percent compared to the same period last year.
 
"It was significantly lower than October 2018's export value of USD16.87 billion," Central Statistics Agency (BPS) Suhariyanto told a press conference here on Friday, November 15, 2019.
 
According to the agency, the country's non oil and gas imports reached USD13.02 billion in October 2019. It decreased by 11.75 percent compared to the same period last year.

Moreover, the country's oil and gas imports reached USD1.76 bullion in October 2019. It dropped by 39.82 percent compared to the same period last year.
 
Cumulatively, the country's imports stood at USD140.89 billion in the January-October 2019 period. It was down by 9.94 percent compared to the same period last year.
 
Last month, Indonesia recorded a trade surplus of USD161.3 million. From January until October 2019, the country recorded a trade deficit of USD1.79 billion.
