Jakarta: President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is set to inaugurate a sugar factory in Southeast Sulawesi Province today. It is one of the largest sugar factories in Indonesia.
According to a media release issued by the Presidential Palace, President Jokowi will also attend a sugarcane harvest in the region.
During the visit, President Jokowi will be accompanied by a number of government officials, including Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung and Presidential Secretariat Head Heru Budi Hartono.
Later today, Jokowi will head to Kendari City, the capital city of South Sulawesi Province. He will inaugurate the Kendari Bay Bridge.
The Kendari Bay Bridge is designed to boost movements of goods and people in the region. That way, the development of the Kendari area can run faster.
