Semen Indonesia Ready to Become Strong Regional Market Player

Jakarta: State-owned cement producer PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk expressed its optimism over becoming a strong player for cement suppliers in particular and other derivative products from its subsidiaries in the regional market.
 
"God willing, with various product variants owned by its subsidiaries, PT Semen Indonesia will be able to achieve the vision of becoming the biggest solution in the region," the company's General Manager of Corporate Communications Sigit Wahono said in Lhoknga, Aceh Besar, Wednesday.
 
On the sidelines of the gathering and media crew visit to the PT Solusi Bangun Andalas (SBA) factory in Lhoknga Subdistrict, Sigit said that currently, the state-owned company through its subsidiaries has many variants of cement, building materials and services.

"We believe that with our various products and variants and supported by cement factories spread across nine locations, we will become the biggest (player) in the region," he said.
 
The nine cement plant locations are Lhoknga, Indarung, Narogong, Cilacap, Rembang, Tuban, Pangkep, Quangnin and Gresik.
 
According to him, with the distribution of factories and increasing production capacity, in line with the acquisition of PT Holcim Indonesia through its subsidiary PT Solusi Bangun Indonesia, it will continue to target export markets including South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Australia, the Philippines and East Timor.
 
PT Solusi Bangun Andalas, a subsidiary of Pt Solusi Bangun Indonesia Tbk, is one of the cement producers in Indonesia that operates in Lhoknga Subdistrict, Aceh Besar Regency, with a capacity of 1.6 million tons of cement per year.
 
"We are also confident that this acquisition will be able to increase Semen Indonesia's market share both at home and abroad. We will also work together with other factories for marketing," he said, accompanied by General Manager of Lhoknga Plant PT SBA Durain Parmanoan.
 
During the gathering and media visit to the Lhoknga PT SBA Plant, the media also visited a number of the company's fostered businesses, as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR), including the development of hydroponics, furniture business, keumamah fish and pomade making guidance.
