Indonesia Eager to Learn about Trade Systems from Australia

Jakarta: The Government of Indonesia and Australia have been cooperating in ensuring the implementation of all the clauses contained within the Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IA-CEPA).
The two countries are planning to implement several standardized trade systems.
The Trade Ministry's Director General of International Trade, Indrasari Wisnu Wardhana, stated that some of the proposed trade systems are the tariff rate quota (TRQ) and the automatic import licensing (AIL) without seasonality.

A workshop were held by the Ministry of Trade of Indonesia and Departement of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Austrlia on 13-14 August 2019 in Bogor, West Java.
Through this workshop, it is hoped that Indonesian ministries and institutions can collect information about the implementation of TRQ and AIL without seasonality.
“Indonesia never implemented the TRQ system. This workshop is a perfect opportunity for us to collect information and gain experience about the system. The TRQ system has been well implemented by Australia and its trade partner countries,” said Wisnu
According to Mr. Wardahana, Australia has implemented TRQ system for more than 20 years. Australia's main trade partners are the United States, Japan, and European Union Countries. (Translator:Muhammad Gestinev)
