Jakarta: Tinkering with the company's top brass positions does not stop at the reshuffle of directors and commissioners of PT Bank Mandiri Tbk.
The plan is that State Owned Enterprise (SOE) Minister Erick Thohir will appoint a former deputy minister from the President Joko Widodo and Jusuf Kalla era to become top brass at an SOE company.
"There is a former deputy minister (who will be the SOE boss)," said SOE Minister for Special Staff Arya Sinulingga, at the SOE Ministry Office, Jakarta on Tuesday, December 10, 2019.
But Arya did not specify who the former deputy minister was and which state-owned company it will be. However, according to a Medcom.id source, the former minister was Archandra Tahar, who was rumored to take the position of senior official at PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN).
In the information disclosure report of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), PGN plans to hold an Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS) on January 21, 2020.
Arya mentioned this plan two weeks ago. At that time, he said that Erick Thohir was looking for the right figures who would be able to run these companies.
"There is a possibility that it may be a deputy minister, it could be a minister. We are looking for a former ex-deputy-minister to support our BUMN," said Arya on Monday, November 25, 2019.
There are former ministers who have been appointed to such positions like Rudiantara, a former minister of communication and information technology who was appointed as the president director of PLN.
