Jakarta: The Indonesian Micro, Small and Medium-Sized Enteprises Association (Akumindo) welcomed the possible appointment of Go-Jek founder Nadiem Makarim as a minister.
“Akumindo would like to thank to Go-Jek for inventing its online applications which have helped create a lot of jobs.” said Akumindo Chairman, Ikhsan Ingratubun said here on Monday, October 21, 2019.
According to him, Nadiem has good reputation for supporting the national human resources development. In additon, Nadiem is thought to be capable of identifying economic problems faced by Indonesia in the face of digital era.
Ikhsan believes that small-medium enterprises (SMEs) will thrive if Nadiem is placed in a relevant ministerial post.
“His apps have helped create new businesses especially in the transportation sector.” he said.
Nadiem Makarim arrived at the presidential palace at 10.15 A.M. Nadiem was told by the president to put on a long-sleeved white shirt.
