Jakarta: The government is planning to offer super deduction tax for all tourism investors in five super-priority destinations.
The five destinations are Lake Toba, Borobudur Temple, Mandalika, Labuan Bajo, and Likupang.
"Tourism has become one of the highlighted sectors to attract investment. We project investment in 2020-2024 to reach Rp5,745.3 trillion with an average growth of 11.7 percent per year," The Tourism Ministry's website quoted the Investment Coordinatin Board (BKPM) investment planning deputy Ikmal Lukman as saying.
Ikmal explained that the government's commitment to boost tourism investment is reflected in a number of policy reforms. He said that some of these policies include One-Stop Integrated Services, 3-hour licensing services, and green belt facilities.
"On this occasion, the Investment Coordinating Board offers investors the ease of direct investment in Special Economic Zones," he was quoted as saying.
He further explained that investors can directly build buildings in special economic zones. He added that they only need to do a post-audit and fulfill one of the requirements, which is that the location must be in accordance with the designation.
"Investors can also use this super deduction tax policy to encourage the creation of superior human resources in tourism," he was quoted as saying.
