Food Prices in Batu Stable ahead of Christmas Holidays

Batu: The Batu Police and the Batu Trade and SMEs Agency inspected a traditional market in Batu, East Java on Wednesday, December 4, 2019. They checked food prices ahead of Christmas and New Year holidays.
 
Batu Police head Adjunct Senior Commissioner Harviadhi Agung Prathama said that food prices at Pasar Besar market are still stable. He explained that the increased prices of staple foods are not significant.
 
"Based on observation conducted by the Food Task Force, there is no hoarding of staple foods," the police official told reporters after the inspection.

"Staple foods have been effectively distributed to the public," he added.
 
Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation remained low and under control in November 2019. CPI inflation was recorded at the low rate of 0.14 percent (mtm) in November 2019.
 
It was supported by lower core inflation. It was also influenced by stable inflationary pressures on administered prices.
 
Consequently, CPI inflation as of November 2019 reached 2.37% (ytd), or 3.00% (yoy) annually. The country's annual CPI inflation was down from 3.13% (yoy) in October 2019.
