Jakarta: President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo attended the opening ceremony of the Indonesia Creative Works 2019 at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) in Central Jakarta on Friday.
Besides President Jokowi, the opening ceremony was also attended by Bank Indonesia (BI) Governor Perry Warjiyo, Creative Economy Agency (Bekraf) head Triawan Munaf and other related government officials.
"We need to help local micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs)," the BI leader told reporters during the opening ceremony.
Initiated by BI, the exhibition presents complete collections of woven, tied, and batik cloth as well as traditional crafts from hundreds of crafters which are affiliated with the central bank.
Held for three days until Sunday, this event is one of the actual actions of the central bank to support development of creative MSMEs, promote local crafts, support employment, and promote tourism.
In addition to displaying collections of traditional cloth and crafts, the exhibition also includes business matching events, business coaching activities, talkshows, workshops and competitions.
