Jakarta: President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo urged officials to improve the development of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). He delivered the message when attending the National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) concerning the Regional Financial Access Acceleration Team (TPAKD).
"We are still ranked fourth in ASEAN. It is actually not bad," the former Jakarta governor said at Hotel Mulia, Senayan, South Jakarta on Tuesday, December 10, 2019.
President Jokowi hopes that TPAKD can introduce concrete measures. He is optimistic that financial literacy in Indonesia can increase in the future.
"If it is well managed, it can help improve our financial literacy and financial inclusiveness. As a result, the public can enjoy better financial access," the president remarked.
President Jokowi earlier stated the ministries and agencies should better support local MSMEs. He revealed that their current efforts are not effective.
According to him, a one-door policy is badly needed. By implementing the policy, local MSMEs can learn about financing, financial management, packaging and branding more easily.
