Jakarta: President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo received members of the Indonesian Textile Association (API) and the Indonesian Synthetic Fiber and Fillamen Yarn Makers Association (Apsyfi) at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Thursday, November 21, 2019.
During the meeting, the government and the representatives of the two associations discussed about the plan to develop an apparel industrial park.
"We have prepared the project. We want to build an apparel park. The raw materials and the industries will be gathered in one place," President Jokowi said.
In addition to that, President Jokowi also talked about the government's commitment to boost textile exports and to develop bonded logistics centers.
"I think we will discussed those three issues," the former Jakarta governor remarked.
The president was accompanied by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Trade Minister Agus Suparmanto, Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) hea Bahlil Lahadalia, State Secretary Minister Pratikno, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung and presidential spokesperson Fadjroel Rahman.
Meanwhile, the two associations were represented by API chairman Ade Sudrajat, Apsyfi chairman Ravi Shankar, Apsyfi secretary general Redma Gita Wirawasta, PT Stritex president director Iwan Lukminto, PT Rayon Utama Mandiri president director Purnomo, Indorama Grup president director SP Lohia and other businesspersons.
