Indonesia's Imports Down 5.11% in February 2020: BPS

Jakarta: The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) today reported that Indonesia's import value stood at USD 11.6 billion in February 2020.
On a monthly basis, last month's import value dropped by 18.69 percent. On a yearly basis, last month's import value declined by 5.11 percent.
"Month-to-month, oil and gas imports decreased by 12.05 percent from USD1.99 billion to USD1.75 billion, while non-oil and gas imports decreased by 19.77 percent from USD12.28 billion to USD9.85 billion," the agency's distribution and services statistics deputy Yunita Rusanti during a video conference here on Monday, March 16, 2020.

According to the agency, raw and supporting material goods accounted for 76.63 percent of imports in February 2020. In the second place, capital goods accounted for 15.77 percent of last month's imports.
"Consumption goods accounted for 7.6 percent of last month's import value," the official stated.
Cumulatively, Indonesia's import value stood at USD25.87 billion in the first two months of 2020. Compared to the same period last year, it was down by 4.95 percent.
