Jakarta: Bank Indonesia (BI) supports the government's commitment to continue accelerating infrastructure development, improving structural reform and strengthening human resource development.
According to Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia Rosmaya Hadi, strengthening the synergy between the Central and Regional Governments is needed to answer three main challenges faced by the country's infrastructure development.
The first challenge is limited funds in the state budget and the regional budgets. "In the next five years, we have a financing gap of around IDR4,000 trillion," Rosmaya told a workshop on Friday, November 8, 2019.

Secondly, the implementation of the public-private partnership (PPP) scheme is not fully optimized for regional infrastructure projects. Lastly, the competencies of the Cooperation Project Caretketers (PJPK) are still limited, especially in the regions.
The workshop is part of the Central Government, Regional Governments, and Bank Indonesia Coordination Meeting to be held in early December 2019 to support the acceleration of infrastructure development.
It is hoped that with this workshop, infrastructure projects in various regions can be completed better and faster.
