Jakarta: Deputy Minister of Finance Suahasil Nazara was officially appointed as an ex-officio member of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) replacing Mardiasmo. Suahasil took the oath of office before the Indonesian Supreme Court on Monday, January 13, 2020.
The inauguration was based on Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia Number 142 / P of 2019. Suahasil’s appointment was announced on December 23, 2019.
According to Suahasil, he is committed to carrying out his duties and obligations as an Ex-officio Member of OJK's Board of Commissioners from the Ministry of Finance as well as possible and with a full sense of responsibility.
The event was witnessed by Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani, Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI) Dody Budi Waluyo, leader of the Supreme Court, leadership of the OJK, Supreme Court Justices and other state institutions.
Before serving as Deputy Minister of Finance, Suahasil was the Head of the Fiscal Policy Office since 31 October 2016.
He was also a Member of the Board of the National Economic Committee (KEN) in 2013-2014, and Coordinator of the Policy Working Group at the Secretariat of the National Team for the Acceleration of Poverty Reduction (TNP2K) at the Office of the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia (2010-2015).
