Jakarta: The Pertamina Innovation Team participated in the exhibition and competition activities of the Seoul International Invention Fair (SIIF) in South Korea on 27-30 November 2019 at the COEX Exhibition Hall. Indonesian representatives consisting of three teams managed to bring home the Grand Prize from this prestigious event.
SIIF 2019 is the largest innovation exhibition event in Asia organized by the Korea Invention Promotion Association (KIPA) and the Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) supported by the Seoul City Government, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the International Federation of Inventors Association (IFIA).
The competition was attended by more than 630 inventors from 25 countries, including Bahrain, Bangladesh, China, Croatia, France, Indonesia, Iran, Korea, Kuwait, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nigeria, Oman, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, UAE, UK, USA, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.
PT. Pertamina Persero sent three of their best teams, including the Vitamin Team consisting of Ari Bowo Yudhaprasetya, Arie Nugroho, Achmad Mohan Sifai, Awang Lazuardi, Benny Nuryadi.
"This team discovered the Early Detection Method of cavitation at the pump using high-level polynomial mathematical modelling," said the Director of the International Invention and Innovation Promotion Association (Innopa) International Partnership, Megaria Agustina, in a press release, in Jakarta on Monday, December 9, 2019.
This early cavitation detection method has been applied to centrifugal pumps to transport petroleum and can also be applied in all industries that use pumps. The vitamin team itself won gold medals and special awards from the GCC Patent Office and the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Then the second team was the TPGK (Tempat Piknik Gunung Kidul) consisting of Astri Pujianto, Herman Ratnofianto, Bastian Wismana, Jonathan Yanuardi, Teguh Triyanto, Handoyo Ogy Dwi Putra, Heru Riswanto, Bram Ispriadi Yuliantoro. The TPGK team found a scale prevention method on the surface and subsurface pipes using the Scale BUM (Breaker Ultimate Machine) tool.
This method utilizes a special material that reacts electrochemically to scale ions. The BUM Scale has been applied in several Pertamina EP fields and other oil companies.
Utilization of the BUM Scale is not limited to the Oil and Gas industry but also other industries that have the same problem in the flow pipe. The TPGK team won the gold medal, the IFIA Special Prize and the special award from the Taiwan Invention Association.
Finally, the Alpuket team with members Hari Purnomo, Sutomo Guntoro Kasdam, Rolin Sumali Rohadi, Aji Maulana Akbar, Gama Kusuma Prawira Sakti, and Indra Perkasa. This team made a product called Alpuket 3.0.
This tool is a leak detector in the tank truck’s steam path. By using a wind compressor, Alpuket 3.0 was transformed into a tool that determines Pertamina's tank truck standard.
Until now, the tool has been applied in Jakarta Integrated Terminal, Fuel Terminal Plumpang, Pertamina Jakarta. Successfully won the Grand Prize and a special award from Taiwan.
"This year's achievement improvements is quite good. Because this year Pertamina Innovation can bring home the Grand prize for the first time, after three years in a row following the SIIF event," Megaria explained.
