Jakarta: State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Minister Rini Soemarno has urged every state enterprise to work harder to achieve the fourth industrial revolution, also referred to as industry 4.0.
"We must work harder to achieve industrialization 4.0," Rini Soemarno said here on Monday.
She said parts of the fourth industrial revolution have been achieved by SOEs.
"The process is still going. I feel that we are heading toward that direction, and we have been able to achieve parts of it," she said following a launch of the Next IndiHome organized .by state-owned telecommunication company PT Telkom Indonesia.
The Government has set a program to make the country an industrialized one which is ready to embrace the fourth industrial revolution, according to the minister.
Necessary infrastructure and facilities have to be ready to support the objective to become an industrialized nation in accordance with the industry 4.0, she added.
SOEs always help materialize the government's programs including in developing industry 4.0 as well as others such as in improving land, air and marine connectivity by constructing road tolls, railway lines and stations, as well as airports.
Quoting a report from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Indonesian economy grew by 5.17 percent in 2018. It was Indonesia's highest annual growth in five years.
Indonesian economy was measured by Gross Domestic Product (GDP) on the basis of the current price reaching Rp14,837.4 trillion and GDP per capita reaching Rp56 Million or US$3,927.
According to BPS, Indonesian economy grew by 5.18 percent in the fourth quarter of 2018. The growth was slightly stronger than earlier expectations.
In terms of production, growth was driven by all business fields, where the highest growth was achieved by Other Service Business Fields at 9.08 percent. In terms of expenditure, growth was driven by all components, where the highest growth was achieved by the PK-LNPRT component of 10.79 percent. (Antara)
