Indonesia Plans to Develop Palm Oil-Based Jet Fuel

Jakarta: President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo has announced that the Central Government is planning to produce palm oil-based jet fuel dubbed "green jet fuel"
 
“We can export jet fuel. We also want to produce palm oil-based jet fuel” he told People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) members here on Friday.
 
According to Jokowi, the B20 biodiesel has been succesfully implemented by the government. This year, the program has succeeded to reduce diesel fuel imports by around 45 percent.

“We have started B20 biodiesel program. We will introduce B30 biodiesel program later," he said.
 
In addition, President Jokowi is planning to introduce the B100 biodiesel program during the second term of his presidency. Previoysly, the Indonesian Palm Oil Association (GAPKI) revealed that Indonesia can produce 47.43 million tonnes of palm oil.
 
“We can implement the B100 program. We have succeeded to produce jet fuel. We no longer need to import jet fuel,” he added. (Translator: Muhammad Gestinev)
