Exports Reach USD15.45 Billion in July 2019: BPS

Jakarta: Indonesia's total exports reached USD15.45 billion in July 2019, increasing by 31.02 percent compared to the previous month.
 
"Indonesia's export performance stood at USD15.45 billion in July 2019. It grew by 31.02 percent compared to June 2019," Central Statistics Agency (BPS) head Suhariyanto told a press conference here on Thursday.
 
According to the agency, the country's non-oil and gas exports reached USD13.8 billion last month. The value rose by 25.33 percent compared to the previous month.

In the meantime, the country's oil and gas exports stood at USD1.6 billion last month. The value surged by 115.19 percent compared to the previous month.
 
Cumulatively, Indonesia's total exports reached USD95.79 billion in January-July 2019. The value was down by 8.02 percent compared to the same period last year.
 
Furthermore, Indonesia's non-oil and gas exports stood at USD88.07 billion from January until July 2019. The value declined by 6.58 percent compared to the same period last year.
 
"Our exports slowed down by 8.02 percent. We must pay attention to this issue. Our export performance still depends on commodities. It is easily influenced by either external and internal factors. We have to improve downstream industries in order to create added-value and jobs," the BPS head explained.
